Public Outreach

Public outreach is one of the thorniest parts of the planning process.  Good projects are sometimes unnecessarily delayed and become more costly as a result of community opposition. Meanwhile, communities often find themselves left out of a planning process. Distrustful of planners and developers, opposition groups sometimes turn to protest and litigation in order to assert their own vision of their neighborhoods. Drawing upon years of facilitating community meetings in diverse settings and formal training in environmental dispute resolution at Pace Law School, Kevin Dwarka LLC designs effective outreach strategies that foster a community-based approach to planning and keep good projects out of the courts.
